Who We Are
Causes for Animals (Singapore) (CAS) was founded in June 2013 by five individuals with experience across animal shelters and rescue organisations. They came together with a shared vision: to improve the welfare of animals in Singapore and strengthen the support available to those working on the ground.
From the beginning, CAS sought to ease the pressures faced by rescuers, volunteers and caregivers by helping provide essential resources and support, allowing them to focus on what matters most — caring for animals.
Today, CAS is a registered charity working to build a more humane and sustainable future for Singapore’s animals. Our work has evolved to focus increasingly on TNRM, medical care, and community-based animal welfare, while continuing to care for the remaining senior and special-needs dogs already under our responsibility.
CAS is supported by a dedicated network of caregivers, volunteers and community partners who share our commitment to improving animal welfare and creating a kinder Singapore for animals and people alike.

Institution of Public Character (IPC)
Causes for Animals (Singapore) is an approved Institution of Public Character (IPC). This means that donations made to CAS are eligible for tax exemption in accordance with prevailing IRAS guidelines.
To qualify for tax deductions, all donors—whether individuals or businesses—are required to provide their identification number (such as NRIC, FIN, or UEN) when making a donation. Qualifying donations made within each calendar year (up to 31 December) are eligible for a 250% tax deduction. For the deduction to apply in the next tax assessment year, donations must be successfully received by CAS before year-end.
CAS will submit the relevant donation details directly to the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) for processing. Tax deductions are granted based on information transmitted by CAS, and donors are not required to submit claims manually or attach donation receipts in their tax returns.
By providing your Tax Reference Number, Singapore tax residents consent to the collection and use of their personal data for the purpose of processing and recording donations made to CAS.
“Tax deductions cannot be issued retrospectively if your Tax Reference Number is not provided within the same calendar year as your donation.”
Management and use of all donations are in keeping with accepted accounting principles and the Charities Act, Singapore guidelines. We are determined to be known for our high ethical standards and our commitment to transparency and openness.

Dogs Over 6 Months
Adoption fee: $250
The adoption fee covers:
- Vaccinations
- Sterilisation
- De-worming
- Flea and tick treatment
- Microchipping
HDB / Public Housing
Project ADORE adoption fee: $250
Under Project ADORE, eligible HDB flat owners may adopt a selected medium-sized local mixed-breed dog measuring no more than 55 cm in height.
HDB adopters must meet the relevant Project ADORE requirements, including:
- Only one dog per flat
- Sterilisation
- Routine vaccinations
- Microchipping
- Licensing
- Compulsory training
- Compliance with all applicable ownership conditions
Basic Obedience Training
$250 for six sessions
Home-Based Training
$150–$200 per session, depending on the individual dog's needs and behavioural issues.
Cats & Kittens
Private Housing
Adoption fee: $150, depending on the veterinary procedures completed.
The fee covers:
- Initial vaccinations
- De-worming
- Flea and tick treatment
- Microchipping
