Adoption Programme
The adoption programme at Causes for Animals (Singapore) helps rescued animals find safe, loving, and permanent homes with responsible adopters. It is important because adoption gives animals a second chance at life while reducing overcrowding in shelters and encouraging responsible pet ownership within the community.
Bringing your dog home is step one. Staying on top of these basics is step two.
Health & Care Reminders
We will provide reminders and guidance on:
- De-worming
- Vaccinations
- Heartworm prevention
- Flea and tick prevention
Adoption Fee
Adoption fee: $250 (dogs) / $100 to $150 (Cats & Kittens)
For all dogs and cats over 6 months old, the adoption fee covers:
- Vaccinations
- Sterilisation
- De-worming
- Flea and tick treatment
- Microchipping
Training & Behaviour
We strongly encourage all adopters to enrol their new companion in an appropriate training programme. Training helps build communication, confidence and a positive relationship between you and your pet.
Puppies are required to attend compulsory puppy socialisation classes. We can recommend trainers who have experience working with adopted and rescue dogs.

What is Project ADORE?
Project ADORE stands for ADOption and REhoming of dogs. It is a Singapore government initiative that provides a pathway for HDB households to adopt suitable local mixed-breed dogs, commonly known as Singapore Specials.
In simple terms, it helps make it possible for people living in HDB flats to give a rescued local dog a home, while ensuring responsible ownership and the welfare of the dog.
For CAS, this means helping suitable dogs through the rehoming process including vaccination, microchipping, sterilisation and basic obedience training before they are matched with their adoptive families.
Through Project ADORE, CAS has helped 341 local mixed-breed dogs find loving homes and a second chance at life.
Before each dog heads home, we make sure they are vaccinated, microchipped, sterilised and given basic obedience training, helping them and their new families begin their journey together on the right paw.
Who can adopt through Project ADORE?
Under Project ADORE, eligible HDB flat owners may adopt a selected medium-sized local mixed-breed dog measuring no more than 55 cm in height.
HDB adopters must meet the relevant Project ADORE requirements, including:
- Only one dog per flat
- Sterilisation
- Routine vaccinations
- Microchipping
- Licensing
- Compulsory training
- Compliance with all applicable ownership conditions
Project ADORE training fee: $250
This covers the basic obedience training required as part of the Project ADORE rehoming process.
