Mel’s journey began outside Mel’s Bar in East Coast, where she was rescued after fending for herself on the streets.
Mel is a sweet, shy girl who can be quite wary, especially when meeting new people. The world can feel like a frightening place to her, and she is still learning that humans can be trusted. She is not yet comfortable with human touch and will need plenty of patience, gentle encouragement, and time to build her confidence.
One thing Mel absolutely loves, though, is the company of other dogs! 🐾 She is excellent with her canine friends and seems to find comfort and confidence around them.
Mel is also still learning the basics of life outside the streets and currently cannot walk on a leash. Everything that comes naturally to other dogs will need to be taught to her slowly and kindly.
She may take time to come out of her shell, but we believe there is a lovely girl waiting underneath all that nervousness. Mel doesn’t need someone to rush her — she needs someone who will let her move at her own pace and show her that she is finally safe.
Mel will need a patient, understanding home where trust can grow slowly and at her pace. In return, she may just discover that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.
