Dash never had the chance to know a normal puppyhood.
When he was just a week old, tragedy struck. His mother was crushed by metal pipes at a worksite, leaving her litter orphaned. We bottle-fed Dash around the clock, watching this tiny, helpless puppy grow into a happy, spirited dog.
For a while, it seemed his story had the happy ending he deserved. Dash was adopted into a loving home.
But just over a year later, he was returned.
As he grew out of his puppy phase, his family decided he was “too difficult” to manage if they moved to a smaller home. Overnight, Dash lost the only home he had ever known.
The years have passed, and sadly, Dash has been overlooked time and time again. He is selective with other dogs and needs time to build trust with unfamiliar people, especially men. These traits have made it incredibly difficult for him to find another home.
To the volunteers who know him and respect his boundaries, Dash is affectionate, playful and endlessly loyal. He lights up when it’s time for a game of fetch, proudly carries his favourite toys around, and is content simply spending time with the people he trusts. Once you become part of Dash’s circle, you see the gentle, loving dog he truly is.
