Fokker’s story is one of survival, second chances, and learning to trust.
He was found at Seletar Air Base, where he had wandered into danger and was putting himself at risk around the air traffic. The authorities were called, and sadly, Fokker’s future looked very bleak. He was facing the possibility of being put down.
Thankfully, two kind-hearted ladies stepped in and gave Fokker the chance he desperately needed. They rescued him and spared him that terrible fate.
Fokker was frightened, vulnerable, and had nowhere safe to go. He was petrified of almost everything around him, and we knew that simply returning him to the streets would not give him the chance to survive. He needed someone willing to see beyond his fear and give him time to heal.
Fokker can be aggressive towards certain people, particularly when he feels scared or threatened. This is why he will need a very special person who understands that trust cannot be rushed.
Behind his fear is a dog who deserves the opportunity to discover what safety, kindness, and love feel like. Fokker will need patience, understanding, consistency, and plenty of time to learn that people can be trusted.
He may not be the easiest dog, but his story is far from over. With the right person by his side, we hope Fokker can finally leave survival mode behind and learn what it means to feel safe, loved, and truly at home.
