Sandy was rescued as a tiny puppy from the AVS pound in 2014. Like many rescued dogs, she came with emotional scars that never fully healed. Shy, skittish, and fearful of unfamiliar situations, Sandy has spent much of her life searching for safety and reassurance in a world that often felt overwhelming.
Over the years, Sandy was diagnosed with an immunodeficiency condition, adding another challenge to an already difficult start in life. Yet despite everything she has been through, she remains a gentle and loving soul.
Today, Sandy is 12 years old, one of our senior residents. She has spent more than a decade under our care, growing from a frightened puppy into a sweet old lady who finds comfort in familiar faces and routines.
Last month, Sandy lost her longtime companion, Courtney, to illness. After sharing so many years together, Sandy is still adjusting to life without her dear friend by her side.
As Sandy enters her golden years, we want to ensure she continues to receive the medical care, nutritious food, supplements, and comfort she needs. Senior dogs like Sandy are often overlooked, yet their needs are greater than ever.
By sponsoring Sandy, you become part of her story. Your support helps us provide for her daily care and gives her the security she has relied on for most of her life.
